What Day is it?

Published by under Uncategorized

What day is it? I am getting so confused. If I don’t look at a calendar these days, I am totally lost. The above photo shows some of the books  that my back door neighbour left on our fence. How cool is that? So although it has been busy, there are always blessings such as this that brighten up a day. When Jared and I go to the shops, we normally split up. He goes one way with a couple of children and I go the other. We look at different things, and then we can leave quicker. When I came out of a shop, I saw him with the kiddies, so I grabbed my camera and took a photo. He didn’t know that I was behind, but I thought it was so lovely seeing all the children cuddle him, I just had to take a photo.

Jared had a week staying in the city for Assembly (where all the Presbyterian ministers get together to discuss important stuff, and maybe some unimportant stuff). It is a very busy week for him, with early mornings  and late nights. I had the added driving, but overall it went ok. The funny thing is that I couldn’t sleep well. I am so lame. I thought that I would sleep really well with the window open, the sheets un-tucked, but instead I woke up every couple of hours. I  missed  him 😀Do you like the shield that Lachlan made? It is Captain America. I was happy to see him cut out the shape, paint, and then apply elastic on the back so that he could put it on his arm.I have been op shopping once again. I found these Mr Potatoes for 5oc each. These are great for our collection of things for Malawi. I also found a book that I wanted to buy which would have cost about $30, for 2!! Yay.Stephanie had her grade 6 piano exam this week, so while she had her exam we went for a walk. We saw this lovely yellow iris. Steph looked a little disappointed when she came out, as the air conditioner made the page turn while she played. I’m sure she has done well.

We also went to a fair well dinner for Professor Milne (the principal of the Presbyterian College). Prof has been at the college for 32 years. He has served well. It will be sad to see him and his wife go.We have had some crafting here too. Alycia made a cute little cupcake. This cuff is in my “must make list”. This is not only great for kiddies, but great for when you go for a walk, and don’t want to take a purse with you. Phew, it’s Over!

Published by under Uncategorized

Yay!, Dayspring Day is over. I am always relieved when I haven’t forgotten anything and the day goes well. Although I had a smaller number this year, I thought that it went really well. I had a young fellow dress as a knight for me, he was Sir Jesse, he did a fantastic job.He taught us to be faithful, and to be prepared to give an account of the hope that is within you. This young knight is training to be a teacher, and I can already see that he will be a great one.I had a girl knight called Theophilus meaning lover of God. She taught the children about the armour of God. She did a great job despite not being an outgoing person. She loves the Lord, so she pushed herself to stand and talk. I was very proud of her.

My children all played a part. Stephanie and Lachlan were the pray twins. They did a little talk about praying “Knight, and day”, praying without ceasing. Don’t you think they look cute?I had Camden act as Stamp Boy, and he was also a Knight who set Cassandra free with the Word of God. I haven’t got a photo of them :C, the batteries ran out at the exact time, blah!

I had a friend Alison run the games, which kept the children busy and entertained. She is shining star. We also made ice cream.

We talked about reading our Bibles faithfully. I give out a special medal to children that have either listened to their parents read them Bible stories, or to children who read the Bible themselves. Last year I had a 12 year old read through the entire Bible, I was so thrilled with him. My 9 year old Camden read through most of the NT this year. I can tell that he has been reading it, because his understanding has grown. Me? I read it through again this year, I need to prove that you can do it easily. In fact if you want to read it in a year, it is only a few chapters a day! Time to start again 😀We also had some visitors  stay with us too, so it was a busy, but fun week. On Sat. I went to a sewing bee for a couple of a couple of hours, then drove home to pick up the rest of the family, drop Stephanie off to her music taping, then went to the “March for the Babies”.About 1000 people turned up to walk for the protection of babies in the womb. Last time we did one of these walks, we walked in silence, I think that works better. I felt a little freaky with people screaming out stuff.  Of course we had people scream at us by the time we reached parliament stairs. A wild woman was screaming about choices. I really recommend you having a look at this You Tube video. I would love to be able speak so clearly and calmly to people.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7y2KsU_dhwI The movie is called 180.And for a less serious side note, take a look at what my hubby bought me. I think I did a little dance when I saw these in the shop. I was suppose to wait until Christmas, but Jared gave it to me two hours later ( don’t you just love that?)

SWAP! Yay, it feels as though I haven’t done one of these for ages. It will be good to make something other than swords or cards. I have done a Tilda swap before, and enjoyed doing it, so here I go again. You can check out her site here:http://catalinanz.blogspot.com/2011/09/handmade-tilda-christmas-swap.html

This week we are having a friend with her daughter stay with us. It is the second week of school holidays, so we are hoping to do a few things. Lachlan and Alycia will be going to the Royal Melbourne show with them tomorrow, so they will be having some fun.

I have to show you some lovely photos of Jared. They were taken at college. I have one in a photo frame for my dressing table, but he keeps moving it, he doesn’t like it, he thinks it is like a photo that you have up when someone dies.the other one is in black and white. When Jared saw this photo, he said his pants really needed to be ironed, ugh!Not long now for Dayspring Day. I hope it goes well, I will let you know.
