You Have to Take a Look.

Published by under Uncategorized

I just love these patterns fromhttp://www.bitofwhimsydolls.com/they are so cute.  What’s better than cute? The fact that I can actually make them!! Today is the final day that she is selling the patterns at 40% off, so don’t delay, check it out. I have bought 4 patters in the last couple of days. You can buy them from her website, which is above, or from her etsy store. Here are some pics off Facebook that others have made.

These toys are made from only a couple of patterns, why don’t you check out the other sweet patterns on her website?

A Princess, and a Little Creativity.

Published by under Uncategorized

So here is my princess, the dress is from our neighbour. I let her wear it to Knox City shops, people stared, she didn’t notice, that was sweet. This is Steph’s creativity for the week, she wants to give them to some children who have a new little brother.Tiger, Duck and Panda. She also made a scarf, for herself.I finished two more “unfinished projects” The first one being a baby doll made from stockings. I had to make a couple of limbs and sew her together. Warning though, velcro is very cruel to these kinds of babies. Cassandra had fun claiming her as her own, in fact she has taken her to the city today.and the back?and all dressed up.I also finished making 6 bibs. They needed sewing to various degrees and velcro fasteners.

It feels so good to finish projects, however small. I’m doing the challenge at Joy’s blog http://joysquilts.blogspot.com/, there is still time to join me 😀

I now have a draw filled with unfinished projects, I found a rocket ship cut out, hand towel, bag, magnets, and the list goes on…

On another note, I think that I am going nuts, I saw this doll, and I bought it! It smells lovely too. Steph was with me, she said that she liked it too, that was it, we are both nuts. Now who to give it to? In case you are nuts too, you can get one at K-mart for $25.

And just for the record, look how naughty my children are. Alycia and Camden were playing with a rope. ouch! Look what they did.Um, I think that the picture is upside down, but hey, either way, it looks bad.

What’s Up?

Published by under Uncategorized

The weeks just go so quickly…do I write that every week? On Sunday we went to Ballarat, Jared had to preach for College Thanksgiving Week. Camden kept laughing when the choir sang, they sang “Come, Jesus Come”, at the end of the song Camden said “They didn’t say please”. We stayed for a fellowship lunch and drove home.Do you see this sign? I didn’t! I had my feet on the heater, and then it felt as though my shoes were melting. Camden just looked at me and said “Didn’t you read the signs?” Yes, you heard right “signs” There were about 10 of these plaques along the length of the pew, duh, I didn’t notice. Camden found this amusing too.On Monday I had a meeting at the college, so the kiddies did school in the van while they waited for me. Afterward I took them to McDonalds. They gave us a bunch of pigs, we left them..Mum came over on Tuesday to help/do the pruning. Poor mum hurt her leg. Meanwhile life just moves along, Girl’s Brigade, Boy’s Brigade, Music lessons, Sport, Youth Group, yawn!

Two More.

Published by under sewing

Last night while going through my fabric stash I found another unfinished project, a  pair of pants that were suppose to be for Alycia,  Alycia is now 10! Thankfully Cassandra is the right size for them, so I thought that I would complete them for her, but make them reversible (which they were suppose to be originally). After a few mishaps…like duh!! How did I sew the legs together?? But after some unpicking, they turned out.and a close up?I also finished some hankies. Do you remember that I cut up a couple of Jared’s shirts about a year ago? Well, I finally hemmed them (how hippie am I?). Now we have an extra 9 hankies. Ah, it feels good to finish what you start. Unfortunaltly, as I opened all my cupboards I am finding more and more UFOs!! I found a cut out baby doll carrier, a number of felt babies, and I know I have a rocket ship somewhere, and some flower broaches, ugh!

Inspiration

Published by under Uncategorized

Don’t we all love blogs? I showed a friend today my blog, and she said “you have so many pictures!” Well, hey, a picture tells a thousand words don’t you know? Let me show you some of the goodies that I have cast my eyes on lately. Maybe they will inspire you too!Is it just me, or do you all want to have a “sleepover now” I found this pic on   http://www.youaremyfave.com

This is a super cute little book fromhttp://rosylittlethings.typepad.com/These are a cool idea, I always have gross gloves when I wash dishes (I think the children always knock them into the sink). I don’t have a dishwasher, so this could come in handy. I wonder if I could do this with a coat hanger? No? Where can I get some?I use to have one of these, mmm, I wonder where it went?

Today I had a friend and her son over for lunch, it was lovely having them. It was a bit sad when she asked me if she could have a panadol because she had a headache! I think Cassandra was a bit loud for her, or shoud I say Camden and Cassandra.  It’s amazing at how you can get use to noise….next time come prepared, take some before you visit, hee hee.

What’s Up?

Published by under Uncategorized

Busy, busy, busy… Jared wanted us all to come to the city with him on Friday. To be truthful, I really didn’t want to because I just wanted to stay home, but I decided to be good and go, happily. Jared had a meeting for a couple of hours so I had to entertain the children for a while. Now what would I do? The children thought that it might be fun to check out the Melbourne library. They had a shopping exhibition in there too, so we thought we would have a little looksie. We discovered a little room with chess sets set up for people to play. Trying to look intelligent we settled next to two gentleman, while Camden and Lachlan had a little game.We also discovered that Camden feels that he would like to have a huge library. When we walked into this room, he said “Ahh, now this is my home”.As you can see he made himself quite at home (which was rather embarrassing considering that there was a lady sitting right opposite him). The actual exhibition was weak, although there was a pretty dress..The girls thought that it was a wedding dress, but no, it was a dress for a ball, afterall is was a beautiful shade of lemon. We saw some good ole art work depicting Australian history, such as Burke and Wills.Earlier we had discovered that Seven Eleven sold hot chocolates for $1, so we bought five! Then we went off to the Victorian Market, and on the way we visited some turtles.I saw a top that would have been suitable for me..although probably a little insensitive to people with anorexia.

We finally met up with Jared and enjoyed a Chinese meal with him. Can you see how excited he is?Of course we did other things such as go to the Docklands and a tram trip.On saturday I decided to join Joy in finishing some of my UFOs (that unfinished projects folks!). Why don’t you put your name down at her blog and join me.http://joysquilts.blogspot.com/ I can’t be the only one with lots of unfinished items around the house can I? Here are some of my items. Bibs without fasteners, appliques without hair, hair bands without elastic, etc, etc.and others..

Check out these fingerless gloves that Stephanie crocheted. I think that she is brilliant! She told me not to wear them in private, because she doesn’t think that they are any good, but they are great don;t you think?

Today Jared preached at Frankston, it was good to hear him preach. He always inspires me to live a godly life. Later in the afternoon we visited someone who just delievered a 11p 12 oz baby boy. Wow! What a cute baby, he didn’t look that big, but he felt it. Babies are such a blessing.

Bowled Over.

Published by under swaps,Uncategorized

Ha ha, I went bowling today with Alycia, Lachlan, a friend and her two children. I won the first game, and Lachlan won the second.

We also had a moment to pop into an op shop. I found some magazines to inspire.$1 for five mags, not bad eh?

Yesterday, I saw my mum, then went to Mothers Group for a catch up. We shared a lovely lunch, and children all got along well. I also popped into another op shop, and found some little treasures.Do you believe that these books were only 50c each? I can hear you swooning. Maybe I’ll have a giveaway in about a week? I also found this book, I loved the cover, but then I read the blurb on the inside, cool stuff. So I gave it to Lachlan to read.

Here is another item that I got from my homemade swap.

This was made byhttp://mandsnest.blogspot.com/A cute little bag and pin cushion by http://sparklygreenknickers.blogspot.com/    Interesting blog name, I like sparkly things too, but personally I think this particular item would be rather scratchy!
